As Design Studio Manager, you will be the team leader and manager of design resources currently in our two offices in Primrose Hill & Shoreditch. You will be responsible for the organization and allocation of on and offline designers and ensuring excellent integrated creative performance and quality. You will be a talented designer with experience in publishing and marketing design, able to manage print and online design projects. As well as leading the design team, you will carry out your own design projects.

Responsibilities

• Take briefs from clients and project directors/managers and interprete the vision.
• Identify the design resource needed for a particular project and allocate the best resource from the design team or pool of freelancers.
• Line management responsibility for the design team.
• Motivation of the design team.
• Ensure that you keep an up-to-date list of freelance resources.
• Ensure projects are delivered to agreed timelines.
• Operate quality control by overseeing all work completed by the design team.
• Share knowledge with other team members and help them to deliver on objectives.
• Undertake design projects.

• Contribute ideas and designs as part of the pitch team, with the ability to present to a high standard.

• Confident Mac and Indesign user.
• Excellent understanding of design processes both in print and online.

• To represent Story to the highest standards and to promote company values inside and outside the building

• To effectively communicate and share information relevant to the wider business, in particular HR, resourcing and QA
• To take a lead role in staffing and HR within your team
